Umar's Naseehat

Submitted by Al-Haq on Fri, 2005-02-11 20:17.

Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu), the Second Khalifah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) was on his way to take possession of the conquered city of Jerusalem. Along the journey he stopped at a place called Jaabiyah where he addressed the Muslims.

The following are some excerpts from his Khutbah of admonition delivered on this occasion:

"O People! Reform your innerselves (souls), then your outer-selves (worldly affairs) will be rectified (automatically). Practise (righteousness) for your Aakhirah, then your worldly affairs will be seen to ....... Whoever intends to take the direction of the Path of Jannat should hold on to the Jama'ah (i.e. Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah). Verily shaitaan is with the lone person. He remains far from two persons. Never any of you be alone with a woman, for verily, the third one present is shaitaan. He who derives happiness from his virtuous deeds and is grieved by his evil deeds, verily, he is a Mu 'min."

Hadhrat Bilal

After the demise of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), Hadhrat Bilaal was overwhelmed by grief and sorrow. He resolved never again to recite the Athaan. He was the special Muath-thin of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam).

Many years thereafter, in Jerusalem, Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu) who had arrived to take possession of the city, requested Hadhrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu anhu) to call the Athaan. Hadhrat Bilaal (radhiyallahu anhu) mentioned that he had resolved never to call the Athaan for anyone after the demise of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Nevertheless, he agreed to make an exception in obedience to Ameerul Mu'mineen, Hadhrat Umar (radhiyallahu anhu).

Trust in Allah

Once in the battlefield Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) saw a Mujahid with a Persian bow in his hand. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) asked: "What is this?" When the Sahaabi replied that it was a Persian bow and that it fired arrows with greater accuracy, Nabi-e-Kareem (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) ordered him to throw away the bow and to take an Arab bow. He added that Allah suffices for us.

In this command of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) there is great wisdom. If Muslims had adhered to this command, they would today not have been dependent on the kuffaar for arms and ammunition. Nor would their products have been inferior to the inventions of the kuffaar. Having ignored this command, Muslims have become dependent in entirely on the kuffaar for weapons and all good things technology provides

Sufyaan's Naseehat to Haroun Rashid

Submitted by Al-Haq on Fri, 2005-02-11 20:12.

Haroun Rashid, the famous Khalifah of the Abbaasi Dynasty and Hadhrat Sufyaan Thauri the renowned Wali, were friends from their childhood days. After Haroun Rashid was appointed the Khalifah, he expressed the desire to meet Hadhrat Sufyaan Thauri (rahmatullah alayh). However, Hadhrat Sufyaan ignored the Khalifah's request. After a considerable time had lapsed, Haroun Rashid wrote the following letter to Hadhrat Sufyaan Thauri (rahmatullah alayh):

"From Haroun Rashid to Brother Sufyaan, My honourable Brother, You are aware that Allah Ta 'ala has created brotherly ties among all Muslims. Our old relationship still exists as before. All my friends have come forward to congratulate my appointment to the Khilaafate. I have honoured them with many gifts. Alas! You have not yet come. I myself would have come to you. However, this would be in conflict with the dignity of the Office of Khilaafate. "

Who are the Real Terrorists?

"WE (Americans, British and Israelis) ARE THE REAL TERRORISTS" writes the journalist, John Pilger

"In a lie backed by the media, countries most guilty of atrocities have protected their culpability onto their victims, " "Having taken part in the killing of as many as 37,000 Iraqi civilians, Blair's distractions, not his victims, are news: from his arcane rivalry with Chancellor Gordon Brown, his political Tweedledee, to his Damascene conversation to the perils of global warning. On the atrocity at Beslan, Blair is allowed to say, without irony or challenge, that "this international terrorism will not prevail". These are the same words by Mussolini after he had bombed civilians in Abyssinia .

U.S. Torture Flights

"An executive jet is being used by the American intelligence agencies to fly terrorists suspects to countries that routinely use torture in their prisons.

The movements of the Gulfstream 5 leased by agents from the United States defence department and the CIA are detailed in confidential logs obtained by The Sunday Times which cover more than 300 flights. Countries with poor human rights records to which the Americans have delivered prisoners include Egypt , Syria and Uzbekistan , according to the files. The logs have prompted allegations from critics that the agency is using such regimes to carry out "torture by proxy"—a charge denied by the American government.

The Value of a Promise

Submitted by Al-Haq on Fri, 2005-02-11 20:03.

On the battlefield of Jihad, Hadhrat Sufyaan Thauri (rahmatullah alayh) was locked in combat with a Magian (Fire-Worshipper). While the two were fighting,. Hadhrat Sufyaan requested the Fire-Worshipper to halt the duel to allow him to perform Salaat.

The Magian agreed. Hadhrat Sufyaan performed his Salaat. The duel resumed. Soon it was time for the Fire-Worshipper to pray. He now requested to say his prayers. Hadhrat Sufyaan complied and the duel stopped.

When Hadhrat Sufyaan saw the mushrik engaging in his idolatry, his anger overwhelmed him. He moved in the direction of the Magian to slay him. The Magian was still in his prayer. As Hadhrat Sufyaan made a move to advance, he heard a voice reprimanding him: "Fulfil your promises."

The Power of Imaan

The famous general of Islam, Taariq Bin Ziyaad on receiving the command of the Khalifah, set off with a naval force of 7,000 Mujahideen to attack Spain . In the year 92 A.H. he landed at a place which now bears his name, viz. Jablut Taaariq or Gibral-ter.

During the voyage to Spain he saw in a dream Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) giving him the glad tidings of him being the Conqueror of Spain. The first act executed by Taariq was to issue an order to set alight all the ships which had brought them to the shores of Spain . After having burnt out all the ships, he addressed his men: "In front of you is the enemy and behind you is the see." In view of the glad tidings he had received from Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), he was confident of victory over the Christians. The Christian king Roderick confronted Taariq's relatively small band of Mujahideen with a powerful army of 100,000.

The Jihad in Chechnya

Submitted by Al-Haq on Fri, 2005-02-11 19:57.

The tenacious presence of the Mujahideen in Chechnya and the numerous attacks made on Russian forces, installations and the infrastructure of the ruling regime, testify that the Jihad in Chechnya is ongoing and alive. The Russian military, despite its brutality, has been totally incapable of dislodging the Mujahideen from their bases in the forests and elsewhere.

The fact that the military might of the superpowers has failed to eliminate the ill-equipped Mujahideen who are few in number, indicates the measure of Allah's Aid. Inspite of the moral and spiritual deficiencies and weaknesses of the Mujahideen, they are managing to harass and unnerve the enemy.

It is Kufr

Submitted by Al-Haq on Fri, 2005-02-11 19:54.

Kufr is denial of Allah or any of the teachings of Islam. The belief that the Taalibaan or any Muslim force was or can be defeated by the sophisticated military power of the kuffaar superpowers, is kufr.

Muslims of shallow understanding and lacking in sound knowledge of the Deen believed that the Taalibaan were defeated by the awesome and awful airforce of the U.S.A. and its superior weaponry of the most advanced and devastating kind. This belief is kufr.

Such a belief implies that Rabbul Aalameen—Allah, The Creator of the universe, Who had aided the small band of Sahaabah at Badr, has—Nauthubillaah! ----become impotent, lacking in power to aid the Mu'mineen against a 'super power possessmg the most dreadful kind of weapons. This implication is kufr without any doubt.
