The Jihad in Chechnya

The tenacious presence of the Mujahideen in Chechnya and the numerous attacks made on Russian forces, installations and the infrastructure of the ruling regime, testify that the Jihad in Chechnya is ongoing and alive. The Russian military, despite its brutality, has been totally incapable of dislodging the Mujahideen from their bases in the forests and elsewhere.

The fact that the military might of the superpowers has failed to eliminate the ill-equipped Mujahideen who are few in number, indicates the measure of Allah's Aid. Inspite of the moral and spiritual deficiencies and weaknesses of the Mujahideen, they are managing to harass and unnerve the enemy. They succeed in inflicting constant losses to the aggressors. Many years have passed without Russia succeeding in its avowed mission to exterminate the 'bands of bandits'. Tens of thousands of military and security personnel are pitted against a handfiil of Mujahideen wielding relatively obsolete weapons and lacking in ammunition. It is purely by the Mercy of Allah Azza Wa Jal that these small groups of Mujahideen have been able to hold the ground against the super powers.
