The Lesson of Laal Musjid

“If Allah aids you, none can defeat you, and if He abandons you, then who can help you besides Him?” (Qur’aan)

With each defeat at the hands of kuf- faar and murtaddeen masquerading as Muslims, there is a lesson for the Um- mah. The latest defeat in the form of the Laal Musjid massacre in which 1500
Muslim girls and hundreds of others were brutally murdered by a murtadd regime posing as Muslim, is yet another warning and a sombre lesson for Mus- lims to reflect and try to fathom the causes of their misery, humiliation and defeat at the hands of the enemies of Allah Azza Wa Jal. Allah Ta’ala declares in the Qur’aan:

“Never will Allah grant the kaafireen victory over the Mu’mineen.”

Yet, we witness on all fronts nothing but hu- miliation and defeat for the Ummah, all over the world. In all the confrontations Muslims are experiencing with their enemies, there is no victory. On all sides there is only anarchy, strife, mis- ery and humiliation, the latest addition to the long list being Laal Musjid.

The Qur’aan is the Haqq. In this there is not a shadow of doubt. The aid and victory which Allah Azza Wa Jal promises the Mu’mineen are reserved for the Kaamil Mu’mineen. The Divine Promise is for perfect Believers, and the Kaamil Mu’mineen are such believers who follow the Sunnah and submit to the Shariah in every minute detail. The satanic abandonment of the Sunnah and the mutilation of the Shariah are not restricted to those who are called the modernists – the westernized Muslims. This satanic process has been adopted by the majority of the ‘ulama’ who have mangled the Shariah with their crude misinterpretations for the sake of naf- saani agendas.

Perverted transgressors who have abandoned the Sunnah and such Deeni personnel who do not follow the direc- tives of the Shariah nor the methods of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) cannot expect Allah’s Nusrat regardless of their proclamation of the Kalimah and of their desire for an Islamic State where the Law of the Shariah will pre- vail.

SINCERITY
While those who are fighting the kuffaar and the murtaddeen in the name of Islam are sincere, they are denied Divine Aid because their struggle is not within the bounds of the Shariah. They
have drifted from Siraatul Mustaqeem and their methodology is not the Sun- nah, hence there is nothing but humilia- tion and defeat at the end of the line.

Consider Palestine and Kashmir. The Jihaad movements in these two States have been fighting for 60 years. But today, after all these decades of fight- ing, struggling and violence they are
further from their target of victory than 60 years ago. Surely, there must be something amiss – something drastically wrong – something which pre- vents the Aid of Allah Azza Wa Jal
something which has expelled the Mu- jaahideen from the scope of the Qur’aanic promise and assurance of victory over the kuffaar, munaafiqeen and murtaddeen who are at the helm of
affairs in all Muslim lands with zero exception.

LAAL MUSJID
Let us diagnose and dissect the Laal Musjid episode in an endeavour to un- derstand the problem and the disease. Without understanding the disease, a solution will never be possible. The sincerity of the Ulama and of the stu- dents, both male and female, is not doubted. They made supreme sacrifices by suffering great hardship during the brutal siege by the murtaddeen, and they offered their lives for the Sake of Allah Ta’ala. No one can doubt their sincerity. All true Muslims make Dua- e-Maghfirah for the fallen heroes and heroines of Islam and supplicate to Al- lah, Ar-Rahmaan, Ar-Raheem, to grant them all the lofty stages of Shahaadat.

While such may be their status in the spiritual realm of Barzakh and in the Aakhirah, Insha’Allah, our immediate concern is the direction we have to take in this transitory abode of the Dunya where Allah Azza Wa Jal has des- patched us to undergo trials and tribula- tions. This world is the arena for the confrontation between Haqq and Baatil – vice and virtue. In the battle against falsehood and Satanism, there is a clear Path and Method which the Shariah has laid down. Diversion from this Path brings in its wake destruction, ruin, dis- grace and defeat for the Ummah. This is precisely what is being enacted today, and what we all are witnessing. But the Ummah – its laymen and its Ulama – wander in utter confusion and are sink- ing further into the mire of baatil which has become the lifestyle of Muslims.

THE ERRORS
In the Laal Musjid episode, a num- ber of glaring errors and conflict with the Shariah culminated in the conflagra- tion and the humiliating and sad deba-cle, and the brutal massacre of hundreds of men, women and children at the hands of those whose lifestyle is de- bauchery. These errors are:

ISI LINKS
(1) For decades, the Laal Musjid has had ‘friendly’ links with the Pakistani government and its appendage, the In-ter-State Intelligence agency (the ISI).

The ties of the Laal Musjid administra- tion go back to the era of the defunct Soviet Union’s occupation of Afghani- stan. While most certainly, good inten- tions motivated the collaboration be- tween the Laal Musjid Ulama and the Pakistani government, the inescapable reality was that the partner of Laal Mus- jid was an evil, faasiq, faajir, in fact murtadd government which was danc- ing to the tune of the U.S.A. The U.S.A.. smarting under its Vietnam de- feat engineered by the Soviet Union, and also by its agenda of self-interest, enlisted Pakistan to give birth to the several ‘Jihad’ outfits which until the Soviet occupation operated freely with the blessings and active connivance of the U.S.A., and until recently with the blessings and collusion of the Pakistani government and its ISI. Laal Musjid played a prominent role in the task of recruiting Mujahideen for the Afghan and Kashmir Jihads.

Notwithstanding the sincerity and good intentions of the Laal Musjid Ulama, their short-sightedness and lack of spiritual wisdom blurred their vision, hence they failed to understand a simple truth, namely, the people of the Deen should not consort with the enemies of Allah – America and the Pakistani gov- ernment, its army and intelligence agen- cies in this case. The Ulama could not remember or did not understand what the Qur’aan says in the aayat: “O People of Imaan! Do not take for a confidante those besides you. They will leave no stone unturned to harm you.”

They also failed to understand Allah’s statement: “And, if you have taqwa and adopt sabr, never will their plots harm you.”

The Ulama failed to comprehend that the bedrock of Jihad is an Imaan glowing with Roohaaniyat. Jihad has rules and regulations. The standard of Jihad cannot be unfurled when the Mu’mineen have to rely on the aid and guidance of the kuffaar, fussaaq, fujjaar and murtaddeen. The Sahaaabah never fought a single Jihad battle with foreign guidance, direction and aid. Hakimul Ummat, Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thaanvi (rahmatullah alayh) explained that for the Ummah there are only two options: Jihad or Sabr. If power is lack- ing for Jihad – as it is the case today – then the Waajib option is Sabr. And, Sabr envisages Islaah of the Nafs (Moral reformation) and spiritual eleva- tion. Minus these vital ingredients, Muslims will never achieve success and victory even if the present upheavals of anarchy are sustained for centuries. Kashmir and Palestine are classical ex- amples of this type of defeat and dis- grace.

Maulana Abdul Aziz Saheb trusted treacherous men masquerading as Mus- lims while their hearts are bereft of Imaan. His inability to discern the treachery of the Pakistani authorities led to his ultimate downfall and the mas- sive destruction and murder which the world has recently witnessed. The ven- erable Maulana failed to understand the trap which the ISI had engineered for him. He was lured out from the Laal Musjid compound by false promises made by treacherous men. He never fled from the Musjid as the baseless propaganda of evil anti-Islam elements purports.

The treacherous ISI officers on whom he had reposed his trust, instead of on Allah Azza Wa Jal, cruelly be- trayed him. They sent message inside to lure him out on the pretext of important and urgent discussions to be held with the prime minister – discussions which will ensure that the goal of his ‘Jihad’ attains reality. The Maulana Saheb en- tirely lacked the insight to comprehend the nonsensical assurances which his treacherous ISI ‘friends’ and fiends were making. These were such ‘friends’ who stood with him in the first saff in their daily Salaat; who sat in his dis- courses, and who had adopted full Is- lamic appearances. He had complete trust in the treacherous ‘friends’ who were in reality the slaves of America.

Since the U.S.A.’s policies had un- dergone a total metamorphosis after the expulsion from Afghanistan of the So- viet Union, and its ultimate demise, the Mujaahideen outfits spawned by Amer- ica and its hireling, Napkistan, had out- lived their utility. The cold war entered a new phase, hence the hollow and mis- erable ‘war on terror’. The whole thing is nothing but a treacherous conspiracy to perpetuate the cold war gimmick in the global interests of the U.S.A. Maulana Abdul Aziz, the Imaam of Laal Musjid, is not a man who flees from the battlefield. It is his short- sightedness and his over zealousness which induced forgetfulness of the Shariah and the advices of the illustri- ous sages of Islam. He was thus humili- ated by those treacherous and shaitaani ‘friends’ in whom he had implicit faith. These evil elements had assured him that the government would never invade the Musjid nor touch Jamia Hafsa, the girls madrasah. The presence of 5000 girl pupils had bestowed a false sense of security to the Laal Musjid administra- tion. They had grossly underestimated the brutality of the evil men with whom they were consorting. Thus, the very basic and first error of the utmost grav- ity was the Maulana’s reliance on the ‘friendship’ with the ISI.

FEMALES
(2) The second fundamental error and glaring conflict with the Shariah was the very institution of Jamia Hafsa, More than 5000 females whose role the
Qur’aan Majeed states with absolute- ness is the home, were lured out from the sacred precincts of their homes to take up the role which Allah Ta’ala has ordained for only males. The Qur’aan Majeed states with utmost emphasis: “(O women!) Remain (glued) inside your homes, and do not make a display of yourselves like the exhibition of Jaa- hiliyyah (the kufr pre-Islam era of shirk and ignorance).”

Allah Ta’ala created the female for the home role only, and for nothing else. The Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the history of Islam are more than adequate evidence and confirmation for this di-
vine decree. When Muslims conduct themselves unnaturally – in ways which are in conflict with Allah’s Shariah – then the consequences are unfailingly disastrous. This is the fate which has overtaken Laal Musjid, its administra- tion and its pupils. All of them were in conflict with Allah’s Shariah. Thus, the disaster which ruined all and everything related to Laal Musjid is the conse- quence of Allah’s Decree.

Madrasahs are not meant for girls. Their sanctuary is the home. But the Madrasah concept portrayed under Is- lamic guise led to their ruin and dishon-our.

JAMIA HAFSA
(3) Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasal- lam) said: “Woman is an object of con- cealment. When she emerges, shaitaan lies in ambush for her.” The Qur’aan commands her to remain indoors – inside her home. The Ahaadith rein- force this sacred command, yet 5000 of them were lured out in the name of Is- lam. Regardless of the good intentions, the error is fundamental and brings evil and ruin in its wake. Furthermore, these thousands of girls were enticed away from their parents and their homes to pursue such degrees of Deeni Knowl- edge which the Shariah does not impose on them. However, in Jamia Hafsa they were distracted from even those unnec- essary branches of knowledge and cast into entirely a different avenue. This avenue as described by both Maulana Abdul Aziz and Marhoom Abdur Rashid Ghazi was “the passion for Ji- had”.

Islam at no stage in its history im- parted the lesson of reliance on women. Islam does not appoint its female adher- ents to fight the battles which Allah Ta’ala imposes on men. The men of this Ummah do not rely on their womenfolk to fight their battles of Jihad. The Qur’aan states that women are a brittle and a tender creation reared among trin- kets and jewellery. Their role is never to move in gangs wielding staffs and apprehending prostitutes and miscreant police officers. It is never part of the Muslim woman’s culture to participate in street demonstrations, march and shout slogans, be the slogan Allaahu Akbar. It is haraam for her to raise her voice and scream: Allaahu Akbar! This is not the culture of the women of Is- lam. The women of Islam are supposed

to be the most tender of the world’s womankind, and to cherish their tran- scendental value of modesty which is an inherent attribute of their Imaan and gender. But the role which Laal Musjid and Jamia Hafsa had moulded for them defeminized and masculinized them. And this is the attitude which all girls madrasahs spawn in girls.

The scenes of burqah-clad women and girls running in the street with sticks, shouting and jeering threaten- ingly is not a portrayal of the woman of the Qur’aan and Sunnah. Maulana Ab- dul Aziz Sahib, in violation of the Shariah, operated a huge girls madrasah in diametric conflict with the Shariah. He brought the girls out of their homes, taking them away from the laps and bosoms of their mothers. Thus, we see how humiliatingly the whole sad, heart- rending episode ended. Ultimately he had to don the burqah in the mistaken idea that Jihad was being promoted.

STUDENTS
Using the male and female students to close down the evil video-dvd shops and the brothel in the vicinity was an- other error, the consequences of which the Laal Musjid administration could not forsee. The Maulana should have known that according to the Shariah, it is not permissible for people in the street to resort to violence and physi- cally break even haraam musical instru- ments. Such action is permissible and incumbent only for the government of the Islamic State. Ordinary individuals are not allowed to resort to action which leads to anarchy in the land.

Undoubtedly, it is the sacred and incumbent obligation of the Ulama to speak out against evil, immorality and sin even if the guilty party is the king or the government. But such Amr Bil
Ma’roof Nahy Anil Munkar (commanding righteousness and prohib- iting evil) is limited to verbal admoni- tion. It is not permissible to create a situation of violence which breeds anarchy.

The occupation of the students of a Madrasah is only to study. It is highly improper and not permissible to detract the students from their academic occu- pation for which their parents enrolled them. The situation in Laal Musjid or its environs or in the whole of Pakistan is not a state in which Jihad has de- volved as Fardh-e-Ain which requires every person – man, woman and child- to take up arms in self-defence.

Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasal- lam) stated with emphasis: “Never ever will prosper a nation who assigns its affairs to a woman.” That girls were assigned an unnatural and an un-Islamic role, confirmed to those who have Is- lamic discernment that the whole epi- sode which was about to unfurl would be doomed to disaster and failure. The ‘passion for jihad’ of the girls was mis- placed and misdirected.

The evil and shaitaani rulers of Na- pakistan actively promote immorality because such is the demand of the im- moral population of that Impure State. The problems of pornography and brothels is not solved by a Madrasah administration closing down by force such evil venues in its proximity. Firstly, the zaalim and murtadd authori- ties will not allow it. Secondly, the per- petrators of immorality will conduct their evil trade elsewhere if temporary disruption has been caused in one area. Thirdly, the Shariah does not impose on ordinary citizens Amr Bil Ma’roof Nahy Anil Munkar of this kind in which force is used. This is the obligation of the government. Fourthly, the islaah (reformation) of the sinners cannot be achieved by means of force and hostil- ity – measures which are incomprehen- sible to their morally deranged brains.

Throughout the history of Islam, the Ulama-e-Haqq had always proclaimed the Haqq at the peril of their lives. In- numerable Ulama and Auliya were put to death by tyrants and evil rulers for proclaiming the Truth. But these Ulama never initiated a rebellion against the evil rulers. The method was always Da’wat, Tableegh and Islaah. They did not resort to ways and means which spawn anarchy in the land and which bring untold hardship and misery to the people. In this sphere Laal Musjid has grievously erred. Hundreds of innocent and gullible girls were sacrificed at the altar of misconception and error. While this is not a mitigating factor in favour the brutal devilish rulers of Napakistan, we have to state the errors of our broth- ers for the benefit of other brothers.

‘FRIENDSHIP’
(5) Despite the proven treachery of the ISI and the government of the Impure State, which was conspicuously mani- fested in their apprehending reciters of the Kalimah and rendering them to the
U.S.A. for horrendous torture, Laal Musjid failed to understand the colossal error of perpetuating ‘friendship’ with shayaateen in human forms. When those who profess to be believers in
Islam and the reciters of La Ilaha illal- lahu Muhammadur Rasulullah, treach- erously arrest their own brothers and hand them over to the agents of shaitaan to suffer the horrors of sickening acts of
torture at the hands of humans whose inhumanity is sub-bestial, then obvi- ously they cannot have Imaan. But with agents of this kind, a ‘friendship’ was retained in the name of Jihad while they
laid their snares into which the Laal Musjid administration and students be- came enmeshed, betrayed and ruined.

THE CONSEQUENCES
The consequences of the confronta- tion, both during the siege and in its aftermath, testify to the many errors of Laal Musjid. The suffering of the Ma- drasah staff and students, the suffering of the parents and relatives of the stu- dents, the suffering to the residents in the Madrasah locality, the brutal murder of 1500 young girls, women and little children, the murder of an unknown number of male students, the injuring of hundreds of others, the total destruction and demolition of the Madrasah build- ings and the homes of Maulana Abdul Aziz and his brother, the arrest and tor- ture of those related to Laal Musjid, the waves of anarchy currently sweeping Pakistan in which life and property are destroyed at random, and the desecra- tion of the House of Allah and its in- definite closure, all testify to the griev- ous errors committed by the Laal Mus- jid administration.

Furthermore, the government’s re- pression on the Madaaris in general, which is in all likelihood to follow in the wake of the Laal Musjid is another lamentable commentary yet to be en- acted Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’aan Majeed: “Admonition benefits only the Mu’mineen
