I’jaaz Waseem Baakhari giving an account of the massacre, writes:
“The Pakistan army has captured the Laal Musjid. By this time the blood of innocent young girls, which had freely flowed, has already been ‘cleaned’ up, and during the darkness of the night the bodies of young female students were being hidden in pits under the supervi- sion of the ruling regime. While this scene was in progress, parents of the young girl students were frantically searching for their daughters. The re- gime was assuring them that they will find their daughters safe and sound. But when will this be? This decision will be made later.
What had happened inside Laal Musjid and Jamia Hafsa – the brutal firing – was totally unexpected of the army of an Islamic (sic) land. When journalists were finally allowed to tour Laal Musjid and Jamia Hafsa, they did not find a single room whose walls were not riddled with bullet-holes. By having displayed its blind brute force, it has made known the lengths it would go to foster immorality and nudity (brothels and massage parlours).
Maulana Ghaazi, by having offered his life at the altar of sacrifice has dem- onstrated that he was in love with Islam and the (original) concept of Pakistan (which was a state founded where Islam would find free play and dominance). But this concept has been cast over- board by our political leaders purely to gain the pleasure of America and for the sake of immorality.
Many days have passed since the final onslaught on Laal Musjid, but to this day hundreds of parents and broth- ers are frantically searching for their daughters and sisters.. Their unanimous cry is: “If they have been martyred, then we are most fortunate. But if they are still alive in captivity, then for the sake of Allah, hand them back to us.” In the light of the bestiality and ferocity of the bombardment by the security forces, the honour of these females is in grave danger of being ravaged (by the brutal forces).
Aaminah is one of the female stu- dents of Jamia Hafsah. From the incep- tion of the army’s onslaught on 3 July, 2007, she was for three days inside the Madrasah. On the 6 July, due to pres- sure of Umm-e-Hassaan (the Headmis- tress), Aaminah reluctantly came out from the premises. How did Aaminah spend her three days inside Jamia Hafsa? What happened inside? The following is the summary of an inter- view which an Urdu magazine con- ducted with Aaminah. Throughout the interview, Aaminah was profusely sob- bing. Her sobbing and her story of the tragedy reduced all around her to tears.
Question: “Aaminah, how old are you? What were you studying at Jamia Hafsa?”
Aaminah: “My age is 17. Since the past three years, I was studying the Qur’aan Majeed and Hadith, as well as secular education.”
Question: “During the (military) operation, were you held inside by force against your will or were you present in the Madrasah of your own free will, and did you come out of your own free
will?”
Aaminah: “No! I was in the Madrasah by my own free will, and I was desirous of fighting to the end. (Sobbing) Our principal, Umm-e-Hassaan sent us out by deception on the third day of the operation. 95 of my companions (females) and 75 brothers were mar- tyred while defending. My hands were dyed red with blood, gathering their bodies. While carrying away one body, another would fall as a martyr. We (the girls) had no weapons. The few weap- ons that there were, were being used by our brothers while we carried water for them during the operation.
Until the third day of the operation I was present in class for lessons. On the third day, Umm-e-Hassaan, shedding tears in pro- fusion, and embracing us, said: ‘Children all of you leave. Go out.’. She said to the senior students: ‘These all (the younger girls) are entrusted to you. Ensure that they reach their homes safely.’ But, the girls, including myself, refused to depart. Umm-e-Hassaan urged us to go and said that she too will be following behind us. Her repeated insistence finally prevailed and we left the premises. But she did not join us outside. We never had the desire to leave the premises. All the girls had written their last testaments. We all were over-enthusiastic for martyrdom. It was our heartfelt desire that our graves be in Jamia Hafsa,”
Question: “Aaminah, when you left the Madrasah, how many girls were there inside?”
Aaminah: “There was a total of 1800 girls. We, a group of 300 had come out. By this time approximately 100 girls had been martyred. (Sobbing) Among them were some two-year old babies.
At the time of picking up their bodies, some of my friends collapsed unconscious.”
Question: “Aaminah, but on the last day of the operation only 30 girls emerged with Umm-e-Hassaan. What happened with the rest?”
Aaminah: (Crying much) “This is also our question and the question of those brothers and parents who are frantically running hither and thither in search of their dear ones. I say with the fullest conviction that not a single girl wanted to leave the Madrasah. We had resolved to offer our lives. They (the armed forces) had mercilessly slaughtered our friends and in the darkness of the night they buried the bodies. There were ap- proximately 1500 girls in the Madrasah. All of them have been martyred. In ad- dition to this cruelty (of the killing), the other cruelty is that the government has caused their bodies to disappear.
Question: “What do you plan for the future?”
Aaminah: “It is my desire to perpetu- ate this mission and to make Shahaadat (martyrdom) the first priority of my life. In view of this move of the govern- ment it now appears that Pakistan is not the land of Muslims. It now appears to me that all those martyred girls from the ages of 2 to 8 years were most for- tunate. They offered their lives in the Path of Allah, and had sacrificed for the enhancement of the Shariah. Now I have no desire for food nor to do any- thing else. I shall engross myself in Na- maaz and supplicate to Allah Ta’ala to bestow death of Shahaadat to me in His Path. I have the fullest confidence that despite the martyrdom of Maulana Abdur Rashid Ghaazi, the movement for the establishment of Islam has not ended.
One day, most certainly, there will be a revolution. It appears to us that we are in Iraq and America is at-tacking us. Maulana Abdur Rashid Ghaazi, despite his martyrdom, is alive……When we left for the outside, the copies of our Qur’aan Shareef were on our desks. This portion came within the firing zone. A number of my friends took the courage to retrieve the copies of the Qur’aan Majeed. Believe me! Their bodies had become like strainers, riddled with bullets. They would hand over their lives to Allah Ta’ala in our laps.”
After this, Aaminah broke down and was unable to continue with the inter- view. Allah’s Athaab for the perpetra- tors of such barbarity is inescapable. The cries and curses which rise fromthe hearts of the Mazlumeen, and sec- onded with Aameen by millions of hearts of Muslims all over the world knock at the Door of the Heavens. These cries have already reached the Divine Arsh, and Allah Azza Wa Jal, has already responded: “By My Might!
I shall most certainly answer your cry though it be after some time.”
